Dear John
by Leah Ellison Bradley
oncluding a year of Bible study can be like saying goodbye to
an old friend. For groups that operate on a school year calendar,
participants say farewell at the close of spring knowing they
may not see each other---at least not as often---until they begin
a new study in the fall. Groups that function on a calendar year
often part company just before the holiday rush begins, kicking
off their new study with the arrival of the new year. But, even
Bible study groups that meet year-round need some sort of transition
from one Bible study to the next. So, how do you say goodbye?
Why not consider scheduling a meeting devoted solely to wrapping
up your year with the Gospel of John? Invite participants to
share what they've learned through this study---about themselves
and about others---to evaluate, praise and reflect on their experiences
and to begin thinking about what they hope will happen when your
group begins a new study.

ideas and suggestions for this special event.
