Afternoon Opportunities
at the Gathering

T
here will be so much to do, but so little time. So, start planning now for the ways you'll spend your afternoons at the Gathering.

· Visit the Great Room, where you'll find music, drama, special presentations and more

· Stop by the Arty Party area and make a keepsake to take home

· Learn more about a Gathering speaker when you visit the Let's Talk area

· Find some peace and quiet in the Prayer and Meditation Room, which includes a full-size labyrinth

· Celebrate PW's past, present and future in the History Room
Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons offer special choices for ways to spend your time.

· Take advantage of one of the 80 workshops offered at the 2003 Gathering. Planned with PW's broad constituency in mind, there is literally something for everyone-from leadership development to lighthearted fun. Several workshops will be offered in Korean and Spanish. Workshops require preregistration; for more information see the "11 to 7" booklet in your registration confirmation packet.

· Get away from the convention center and take a mission tour. Three different tours are planned; each tour will visit two sites, including the Highland Community Ministry Center and the American Printing House for the Blind.

· Enjoy the video previews, available each day from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. The videos will explore a different topics each day. You'll see a brief clip and then receive ideas for using the video in a class, Circle meeting or workshop.

· Take part in a Special Afternoon event. Planned events include a conversation with the Westfall sisters, writers of the 2003--2004 Horizons Bible study, The Face Is Familiar: Remembering Unnamed Women in Scripture.

As always, you'll find exhibits and displays, plus places to exercise, eat, sit and chat.

Youth (ages 13 to 18) are invited to spend their afternoon in the youth program, which includes special outings, time to share with other youth and a hospitality room. See the "11 to 7" booklet in your registration confirmation packet for more details.

Make a gift of the Gathering! Consider giving a youth or young adult a trip to the 2003 Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women as a Christmas, graduation, or "just because" gift.

Looking for a roommate? You're not the only one. Many Gathering participants are interested in finding a roommate for their stay in Louisville, but it's up to each woman to find her own housing companion. If you need help, contact your Presbytery and/or Synod PW Moderator. She may know someone in your region who also wants to share a room.
