Stranger Stories on Film
by Edward McNulty

You might think it's a stretch to find study helps for the Letter to the Ephesians on the silver screen, but a number of films today offer insight into the themes raised by Kay Huggins in the 2002--03 Horizons Bible study, No Longer Strangers: A Study of the Letter to the Ephesians.

Showing a scene or two from a recent film is an excellent way to help a Bible study group make a connection between life in the first century and the twenty-first. In concrete ways that engage the emotions as well as the mind, all films described in this article deal with themes found in the Letter to the Ephesians and raised in the Horizons Bible study. Try using one of them at a retreat, a congregational meal, a church school class or a PW meeting.
