PWs Who Play Together, Stay Together

Alaska Presbytery's
Dangerous Wild Women Drinking Tea
In fall 2003, we asked
women across the country to share some of the exciting new ways Presbyterian
women connect. Our thanks to everyone who eagerly shared the new ways
they’re doing/being PW. We were pleased to learn that just asking
the question seemed to inspire creativity. Ruth Strickland, vice-moderator
and PW Enabler coordinator for Chicago Presbytery, said when she interviewed
PW in her area the enthusiasm was so great they scheduled a “lunch
and gab session” for moderators, vice-moderators and program chairs
in the 16 churches she serves in the northwest corner of Chicago.
Each story is unique, but common threads emerge—when PW connect
to build inclusive caring communities, women almost always share food,
spiritual needs and support.
