Part of Our Song
Presbyterians Engaging with
Women and Men of Differing Faiths

by Jay T. Rock

Poet and author Maya Angelou has said, “To love someone is to know the tune their heart sings and to hum it back to them on the days when they forget how it goes.” For a very long time, part of the tune of Presbyterian faithfulness to Jesus Christ has been our commitment to engagement with the entire human family, all created in the image of God and loved by God. It is now my privilege, as PC(USA) coordinator for interfaith relations, to be the one who reminds our church that its heart-song includes the joyful embodying of God’s love in relationships with women and men of other faiths.

Jay T. Rock is coordinator for interfaith relations, Worldwide Ministries Division, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

What does interfaith dialogue look like for members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)? In the full text of this article, Jay answers this question and highlights the key points in Presbyterian Principles for Interfaith Dialogue.
