Each triennium, the Business Meeting at the Churchwide Gathering gives Presbyterian Women new or adjusted directions for how to live out the PW Purpose. Presbyterian Women, through the Churchwide Coordinating Team of Presbyterian Women (CCT/PW), focuses on current issues facing the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), women and the world at large. On the synod and presbytery levels, PW elected voting representatives to attend the Business Meeting. Those voting representatives will participate in the Business Meeting during the first two days of the Gathering, July 7–8. There, the voting representatives will discuss and vote recommendations on a variety of topics to guide PW in the 2006–2009 triennium.

The Business Meeting at each Gathering includes the election
of leaders and the adoption of a budget. Other business and recommendations are just as important. Highlights of the recommendations follow. A full list is available on PW’s Churchwide Gathering Web pages, www.pcusa.org/pwgathering. On July 9, results of the voting will be posted.

What are the biggest issues coming to PW’s Business Meeting? What will PW look like in the next triennium? Find out in the July/August 2006 issue of Horizons.
