So Many Questions
My friend Nancy McKenzie is into genealogies. Nancy’s a busy woman, active in Presbyterian Women and serving in her community, but she spends every free moment she has sitting in front of her computer looking for more ancestors to hang on her family tree. “This is hard work,” I said. “Why are you doing it?” “Because my husband died when our children were very young,” she replied. “Now they’re grown and have children of their own. I want them to know who their people are.” “But don’t you ever get tired of it?” I asked. “Oh, no,” she said. “I have so many questions! Besides, you get hooked.”

Many of us read the book of Genesis for the same reason Nancy researches her genealogy—to discover who our people are and to tell our children and grandchildren of their family heritage in the faith.
