About the cover

Culturally, we are fixated on sex. Innumerable advertisements,
films, programs and images hint at or blatantly depict sexual
encounters and sex. Although these myriad media representations
depict the spectrum of sexual behavior, we believe that an image
alone is not enough. As a society, we should stop magnifying
the act of sex and contextualize it: explore sexuality-the attitudes,
beliefs and experiences that surround the act. With this examination,
we can understand sexuality as a complex gift that can find beautiful
expression.
Our first idea for the cover of this issue was a brown paper
wrapper. The more time we spent with the articles, we realized
that none of the perspectives warranted being kept under wraps.
Portraits of sexuality are nothing to hide-rather, they deserve
the same bright and glowing image as any other gift from God.
