What Price?
A line in the sand. The last straw. Taking a stand. When considering the price each of us pays for our daily decisions, we learn that not all prices can be paid with money. Moral choices, personal choices, choices for the greater good—what are we willing and able to spend in order to live by our values?

The simple fact that many people in the United States can choose the price they pay (or choose not to pay), sets us apart from much of the world. This issue of Horizons offers readers a chance to reflect on the ways their choices affect the world and the clear lack of choices some of our brothers and sisters face every day. Images on the cover reflect their daily struggle.

How to Use This Magazine

Horizons is the magazine of Presbyterian Women. It is planned and designed for individuals and PW circles,newcomers and longtime participants in the organization. You'll notice resources are scattered throughout the magazine---in sidebars, boxes and sometimes entire articles---because Presbyterian Women is made up of leaders, both current leaders and women with leadership potential. Participants in Presbyterian Women are also active---in their congregation, community and world-so we work to include ways you can respond to what you read in Horizons.

The purpose of Horizonsmagazine is the same as the purpose of our publisher, Presbyterian Women:

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ
and empowered by the Holy Spirit
we commit ourselves:
to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
to support the mission of the church worldwide,
to work for justice and peace,
to build an inclusive, caring community of women
