by Clifton Kirkpatrick Not long ago, an angry reporter from one of the special interest groups in the denomination asked me rather directly, “Do you really believe there is any future for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)?” I replied quickly, “Of course I do!” She said, a bit surprised, “Why?” “Because of my grandchildren!” While that was probably not a very intellectually satisfying answer for my reporter colleague, it is something that I feel deeply.
