Many years ago I was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Dallas. At the time, I was completing my Master of Fine Arts degree in theater from Trinity University’s Graduate School of Theater. Some years later, I did radio and television commercials, and performed in theater and films in Texas, New York, and other cities. I was also a legal secretary, which allowed me the opportunity to eat and to pay my bills when I did not have a current radio, television, film or theatre project. It also gave me the flexibility to leave work and go to a film or a commercial shoot if a project should arise. It was a good life, but there was something gnawing at me that wouldn’t stop.
