What is salvation? Something you earn through hard work? Something that happens to you when you accept Jesus as your savior? Something you inherited when you were baptized? A byproduct of faith? Is salvation only through Jesus? Does it extend to all of creation? Is it predetermined? Or do you choose to be saved?
How often do we as Presbyterians engage such questions about salvation? We might be more used to hearing the term from those who espouse evangelical Christianity. Yet, salvation is central to our lives as Christians. It is fundamental to our understanding of the gospel of Christ. For this issue, writers tackled these big questions around salvation, in the context of the Reformed tradition in which we Presbyterians live our spiritual lives. May this enrich your understanding of salvation and your personal, life-altering relationship with God.
Horizons is the magazine of Presbyterian Women. It is planned and designed for individuals and PW circles, newcomers and longtime participants in the organization.
