We hope you were one of the more than 2,000 women who came to Orlando for the 2012 Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women. If you weren't there but felt your ears burning, know that you weren't forgotten. Attendees shared some of their group's best tips for doing justice and peace work, mission porjects, Bible study and so much more—likely mentioning something you've had your hands or heart in. And attendees found new ideas for those same priorities; you'll be hearing about those soon!
Whether or not you attended, this issue of Horizons offers 40 pages of some of the most moving, challenging, rewarding moments of the Gathering. We hope you'll find ways to explore these ideas in the next triennium—and that you'll join us in Minneapolis, June 18–22, 2015, for the 2015 Churchwide Gathering!
Horizons is the magazine of Presbyterian Women. It is planned and designed for individuals and PW circles, newcomers and longtime participants in the organization. You'll notice resources are scattered throughout the magazine—in sidebars, boxes and sometimes entire articles—because Presbyterian Women is made up of leaders, both current leaders and women with leadership potential. Participants in Presbyterian Women are also active—in their congregation, community and world—so we work to include ways you can respond to what you read in Horizons.
The purpose of Horizons magazine is the same as the purpose of our publisher, Presbyterian Women:
